California Libertarian declares for
Libertarian Party’s U.S. Senator
to represent California.

Arroyo Grande, CA

Gail K. Lightfoot of San Luis Obispo County, has declared her intention to seek the LPCA nomination for US Senate in 2010. Lightfoot kicked off her campaign with a letter to LP activists around the state saying that 2010 could well be the Year of the Libertarians because of the 9-12 Project and the Tea Party movement. Americans are waking up to what the Libertarians have been saying all along. Government is too big, too intrusive and completely destroying 'the states and the people respectively' [10th Amendment, U.S. Constitution]

Lightfoot ran for US Senate in 2000 and CA Secretary of State in 1998, 2002 and 2006. She was named the Vice Presidential candidate for Ron Paul in CA in order to have his Write-In votes counted.

Lightfoot is a charter member of the LP having joined in Jan 1972 and has been actively involved in the party organization sine 1980 serving as Secretary, Southern Vice Chair and Chair [twice]. She is currently Chair of the San Luis Obispo LP County Central Committee, a member of Campaign for Liberty and Tea Party organizer for the Five Cities area of San Luis Obispo County, CA.

Lightfoot says Someone will Beat Boxer in 2010 and, as a Libertarian, she is the candidate who can be trusted to bring sanity back to the US Senate in 2011.
